IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO READ BEFORE YOU SUBMIT

Our most important rule: No AI!
This includes AI-generated text, brainstorming with AI, idea generation with AI etc We do not accept AI usage in ANY part of the writing and publishing process. If at any point it is discovered you have used AI or are pro AI in the creative process, your manuscript will be rejected and/or any contracts will be withdrawn. 
We truly believe in the creativity of the human mind. We want to read your ideas and your words, not those of a machine that stole from other authors.

- Please ensure your genre is appropriate for what we accept or are actively seeking. We will not consider anything else. You will NOT receive a response in any format if your manuscript does not meet our criteria - your query will be deleted. 

- Manuscripts should be appropriately formatted for readability. We recommend a size 12 font, double spacing, justification of the text, and standard indentation of paragraphs.

- We prefer manuscripts under 100k words. We still welcome you to submit if you are slightly above (within 10k words), but anything substantially higher will not be considered.

- We have a 3-stage consideration process: 1) Initial query review 2) Initial chapters review 3) Full manuscript review. Progressing through any stage does not guarantee acceptance. 

- Please ensure you have thoroughly proofread and worked on your query letter and manuscript before you submit. Common reasons for rejection include: Poorly crafted query letters | Multiple basic spelling and grammar errors | A blurb with no purpose or direction | Unnecessary information in the query letter (we don't need to know you're passionate about storytelling; as a writer, we would hope you are).

- Ensure you have read all of the FAQ to ensure we can accept your book and you understand about the publishing process with us.

- Do not apply more than once with the same book. If you don't hear back from us in any format within 2 weeks, please email us directly to hello@astronaut-publishing.com

- If you receive a rejection from us, please do not reapply with the same book, but we welcome you to submit any other books you may have.
